God supernaturally plants gifts in the souls of men and women he is saving. Those who lead and serve through The Exchange desire to come along side God’s work by watering the gifts he has given and seeing them flourish. We want The Exchange to be a place where those who have believed the gospel word are free to bring glory to God through their gifts by encouraging one another in holiness and taking the gospel word to the Clio area and the world. Maybe you’ve never gathered regularly with a church. Or maybe you’ve been hurt by by one. Perhaps you have simply been disappointed with promises that Jesus will make all your problems go away, or even frustrated with a gospel that is all about rules. Whatever the case, we will strive to help you know and feel the refreshing gospel word that brings water to the soul through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our prayer is that through The Exchange you will be led to encounter the living God that refreshes your soul with a living water that causes you to never thirst again.
The basic structure of leadership and service at The Exchange is made up of elders, deacons, and members. The Exchange believes that a local church should be led by a plurality of male elders. We also believe that the church should be served by and serve through both male and female deacons. Both the elders and deacons are accountable to the members. The elders are to give their attention to the spiritual health of all the members, carrying out their ministry through preaching, counseling, vision casing, and decision making. The deacons are to serve the physical needs of the church and the community, with special attention given to the elderly, widows, and orphans. Members disciple, counsel, and care for one another on a daily and weekly basis. The elders, deacons, and members all seek to use their gifts to to encourage each other and spread the gospel word throughout the Clio area and the world.
